Primary School Lustenau Hasenfeld

The town and the school

Lustenau is a thriving town of 20.000 inhabitants in the Vorarlberg Rhine Valley, bordering directly on Switzerland. It is the embroidery capital of Vorarlberg, probably of Austria.

More information is available on the Lustenau homepage (German only).

The school is one of four primary schools in Lustenau, two of which have integrative classes. It is situated in a more quiet part of the town, which used to be rather thinly populated, but has now turned into a built-up residential area. It was built in 1965 when space was still available at a reasonable price. Even after 35 years the school looks modern, and although the design is not spectacular, it creates a friendly and pleasant atmosphere.

At present there are 14 full-time class teachers and two teachers sharing one class, a headmaster plus additional teachers for handicraft, religious instruction and integration. There are 14 classes with a total of 265 pupils, the largest class having 25, the smallest 18 pupils.
