General theme: Nature and environment

1) „When the sun rises“: When does it actually rise?

Explain to your children details from the planet system, the earth rotation and why the sun rises at a different time in different seasons of the year.

2) „My little wildlife paradise“

Nature study (animals, plants, egological balance...) of an unspoilt area of your region.

a) Theoretical part:
Let us work on animals and plants, but also ecological facts about a specific area. Find an example of how biodiversity has been reduced in your area after man has changed the habitat of animals and plants.

b) Activity part:
We try to involve our pupils into some kind of activity in that area .

All studies of “my wild little paradise” result in a joint multi-media CD.

3) Animal immigrants or the comeback of animals

What is an „animal immigrant“? In the past years animals migrated from one country to another or came back after having been driven out long ago all over Europe. Some species left their traditional habitat and migrated to towns and villages.

Work out the characteristics of your „animal immigrant“ in a little text. An artist from Romania will draw a paintbook of all 9 animals. Moreover, the animals are printed on stickers for the children to collect in a sticker album. Children are enhanced to get into contact with partner schools to collect the missing stickers.

4) „Treasure hunting“

A group of children hides a “treasure” in our “wild little paradise” and draws a map of the area. Another group has to find it.
